Prof. Dr. Tayfun Karahasanoğlu, İstanbul ili Sarıyer ilçesindeki Acıbadem Maslak Hastanesi bünyesinde görev yapan bir genel cerrahi uzmanıdır. Tıp eğitimini 1986 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Tıp bünyesinde tamamlamıştır. Uzmanlık eğitimini 1992 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi Genel Cerrahi bünyesinde tamamlamıştır. Profesör akademik unvanına sahiptir. Kayıtta belirtilen başlıca ilgi alanları Safra Kesesi Taşları ve İltihabı (Kolesistit), Hemoroid ve Anorektal Hastalıklar Tedavisi, Gastroenteroloji ve Koloproktoloji Cerrahisi, Özofagus Cerrahisi ve Gastrointestinal Onkoloji başlıklarıdır.
