Prof. Dr. Umut Akgün, İstanbul ili Ataşehir ilçesindeki Acıbadem Ataşehir Hastanesi bünyesinde görev yapan bir ortopedi ve travmatoloji uzmanıdır. Tıp eğitimini 1999 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi bünyesinde tamamlamıştır. Uzmanlık eğitimini 2005 yılında Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Ortopedi ve Travmatoloji bünyesinde tamamlamıştır. Profesör akademik unvanına sahiptir. Kayıtta belirtilen başlıca ilgi alanları Omuz ve Dirsek Cerrahisi, Spor Hekimliği ve Spor Travmatolojisi (Diz ve Eklem Yaralanmaları), Ayak ve Ayak Bileği Cerrahisi, Çapraz Bağ Kopması ve Kas Yırtıklarının Tedavisi başlıklarıdır. Kayıtta 31 adet tarihli bilimsel etkinlik kaydı bulunmaktadır; en güncel kayıt 2022 yılına aittir.
